Excitement of Writing Books
There are a lot of people looking for some type of guidance to help them get a book written and published. It can be a long and confusing journey and it helps to have a mentor or group of experts you can turn to. Good thing we have 4 popular fantasy authors to help you out.
Here is another good article about writing books, from one of four authors that post weekly about the writing process and getting published.
This one is from Misty Massey:
Writing to the Writer
As a writer, I’ve always ever had one true hope for my work, and that was that it might someday make a reader feel the way my favorite author’s books always made me feel. I wanted my readers to come away from my stories breathing a satisfied sigh of time well spent.
When I was a child, I used to write letters to authors whose work impressed me, people like E L Konigsberg, Elizabeth Enright (and was broken-hearted to learn she had died some years before my letter arrived), and Marguerite Henry. Most of the time the only response was a form letter of some kind from the publisher, thanking me for my interest.
When I was 10 or 11, I wrote a letter to my favorite author (at the time), Alexander Key. I’d just finished his fantastic novel Flight to the Lonesome Place, and I had a question about one of the characters. Everyone told me not to expect a personal response, since he was a famous author and I was just a kid who read his book.
Imagine my excitement when a letter arrived a few weeks later, with “A. Key” in the return address corner. I read his charming, thoughtful, personal response to my question at least one hundred times. My favorite author had taken the time to write to me, a mere reader. How amazing was that?
These days I’m the one getting correspondence from readers. It’s a good deal easier here in the 21st century, what with email and blog lines. No one has to search very diligently before they find a way to contact me, which is nice for both of us.
Yesterday, for example, I opened my email and found a delightful note from a young woman who had just finished reading Mad Kestrel, and wanted to tell me how she felt about it. As I read her gushing email, I began to cry, because I realized that I’d done what I wanted to do. I had given at least one person a story that became real, a cast of characters she could care about, and a world she didn’t want to leave behind.
As writers, we all hope for award nominations and bestseller status and seven figure advances, but honestly, when it all comes down, what we really want is to touch someone else’s soul with our work. That’s what being an artist is all about.

If you’re looking for information on Waterproofing Basement Walls, this has it all.
When you are finishing a basement, waterproofing basement walls is a useful thing to do. Basement walls are the entry point of most moisture creating a high level of moisture in them. The most frequent causes of water build-up in basements are due to cracks, leaking windows and pipe condensation. You will run into all kinds of issues if you allow too much water retention or allow it to stay for too long.
Basement Wall Options
There are numerous ways of waterproofing basement walls and these include:
- French Drains
- Hollow Baseboard Molding
- Sump Pumps
- Waterproofing
- Damp Proofing
French Drains - An exterior system running the perimeter or partial perimeter of your house for heavy rain run off drainage, or an interior system if water is coming into your basement through the floors or cove between the floor and the wall. An excavation was made inside the drenched basement floor. A pierced plastic drain tile pipe is placed and encircled by stones and pebbles. Some wet basement waterproofing and repair contractors re-cement the floor over the French drain system leaving a 1 inch to 2 inch gap in the floor along the walls to allow the web wall seepage to drain below the floor into the French drain system. Sump pumps are used in French drainage systems.
what might be the possible use of the Hollow Baseboard Molding.is it good enough to adhered or joint for epoxy use? Water rising at a cove area in a basement will also damage hollow molding since it will retain moisture from a wet wall. More often than not, linked to a sump pump.
One item you can include when waterproofing your basement walls is a sump pump that can be installed below the basement floor. Sump pumps can collect underground water through perforations in the sump well in the immediate vicinity of the sump pump. Sump pumps can also act as a good floor drain or be used to drain a variety of underground drainage pipes.
Wall Sealers – Varieties include spray applied basement wall sealers, brush or roller applied basement waterproofing sealers, or panel type basement waterproofing sealers for wet basement walls.
In reality a good drainage system cannot guarantee dry basement walls. Being the cheapest and easiest methods to stop moisture from getting into your basement through the walls, lets focus on damp proofing and waterproofing.
What is Damp Proofing?
You may be asking yourself what is involved in damp proofing your basement and the best example I can give of damp proofing would be to think of a castle with a moat and think about how to keep the water away from this castle; first you build the permiable pallette layer where you want the castle floor, then you would place a solid layer over that, then you would leave a vent space and lay your foundation; as for your walls, you would build your walls, then do your solid layer and then your permiable layer, and now you have damp proofed your castle.
Damp proofing products are typically a tar based material in a solvent base. Although these are a cheap fix, they are not very effective because they are designed only to slow down the moisture build up not prevent it. The biggest problem is that, because this material becomes brittle, hairline cracks will appear as the foundation settles. Since the tar based coating does not stretch to cover these cracks, water will seep into the basement.
What is Waterproofing?
The water proofing products are such that they stop water penetrate into wet places as well. Because hydrstatic pressure in the soil after heavy rain or spring starts thawing. Advanced Waterproofing Technologies provides supieor waterproofing protection as the products contain rubber and it allows flexibility when it dries. The concrete or block has a waterproof coating that stretches to make the foundation completely waterproof.
How to Apply
Obviously it would be most sensible to use waterproofing as it offers better long term results and you might well find that it comes with a guarantee that lasts for up to thirty years.
In the past, builders ignored the need to waterproof basement walls. At this point you have the opportunity to put this situation right with convenient products that have easy to follow instructions Even if you are not a professional you will find that our products are easily applied and not harmful. They come ready to use in for example, 5 gallon pails or 55 gallon drums and do not require heating or special application equipment – anyone who can use a brush or roller can apply them. Commercial airless sprayers can be rented by the day to waterproof basement walls. An average size basement of approximately 1,000 square feet can easily be waterproofed by a couple of people using a roller in 2-3 hours. So start it and enjoy the convenience of damp-less space.

Fishing for Fisherman Retirement Gifts
Fishing For Gifts
Fishing may be considered to be both a career and a hobby. For those working in the fishing industry, the person could be the one managing such a fishing company, or be out there in the sea hauling the fish as bountiful harvests. For those just enjoying the thrill of fishing, the person could be a simple small-time fisherman by the lake, river, or perhaps a big-game enthusiast and goes out into the open sea to catch huge types such as Marlins or Swordfishes.
What ever the type of fishing endeavor a person engages in, retirement gifts for the fisherman at heart is one of the most rewarding and memorable gifts to be given.
Thinking about what to give to someone involved in fishing maybe harder to fish than real ones. However, here are some guidelines on what type of items could best fit as a good fisherman retirement gift.
For The Hobbyist
As mentioned, the fisherman who goes fishing as a hobby is not dedicated to fishing for work or career. The retiree in this context has another career and just fishes to relieve some of the work related stress, or pass time for leisure. The personal preferences of the retiree should be taken into consideration.
For the hobbyist who likes to fish for freshwater fishes, he would be more accustomed and affiliated with certain types of fish like freshwater trout, bass, and the like. His equipment would also be customized to suit freshwater fishing like a smaller rod, lighter grade for the string, accessories and much more.
A good way to know what to give a hobbyist fisherman on his retirement from work is to check what seems to be lacking in his equipment. It doesn’t hurt to take a quick peek at his fishing gear, research some off the internet for similar fishing equipment, and acquire it. A personal touch to add some engravings of the retiree’s name on the gift should definitely add more pizzazz and value to a retirement gift. If you feel generous, a whole kit would even be a blast.
For The Career Man
The professional fisherman acquires fishes in a different manner. The fishing pole is not the primary utility of such a career man, but instead employs the use of large fishing nets and boats to reel in fishes by the bulk. Usually, a professional fisherman is doing his specialization in the middle of the sea wherein, such equipments and resources are both available.
Thinking of a nice retirement gift to a professional fisherman may be flexibly thought of as depending on the retiree’s sentiments and preference. A good plan to get as a retirement gift would be fishing memorabilia like a personalized engraved cast model of the ship he has been riding in, or perhaps anything that would memorialize his spent years in providing the needed fish for everyone.
Another is to provide a quick deviation from the saltwater fishing towards a freshwater type of fishing. This new frontier in fishing would add some curiosity and interest for the retiring fisherman and try out personalized fishing in a freshwater environment. This variety in fishing is most probably going to add some excitement and zeal.
In this manner, a fishing pole and fishing kit would be the most logical and concrete retirement gift. Fisherman retirement gifts are given to maintain and keep the passion of fishing even after a retiree has lessened his load for fishing.

Spare Me the Dirty Laundry
Who wants to deal with dirty laundry? How can you get organized for this common household chore that most of us don’t like to do? Eventually you’re gonna run out of clothes, so you might as well follow a few easy tips to stay on top of laundry day and keep your laundry room organized.
I have a very small laundry “closet” and the item that I have found the most helpful is a laundry hamper that has three separate compartments. Even my kids know one is for whites, one is for darks and one section is for jeans & towels and they separate their laundry right next to the washing machine. This is a super first step to get a handle on getting laundry ready to wash.
How many spot removers and sprays do you really need? Don’t waste space by saving a bunch of cleaners that you don’t like or you don’t use. Pull them all out, keep the ones you like and give away the ones you don’t.
Keep only laundry related items in the laundry room to help you stay decluttered and organized. The laundry room is not a catch-all place for all the items you don’t know what to do with. If you have items that just don’t belong there, pass them on if you aren’t using them or find a real “home” for them elsewhere.
Turntables or lazy susans are fantastic for loading up all your sprays and cleaners. Just give ‘em a spin and grab what you need, spots be gone!
Organize your laundry room and get that pesky chore done quickly!

How To Profit From iPhone Apps
It doesn’t take much to make an iPhone application, but making money with an iPhone app is a different story. It takes strategy, planning, and forward-thinking. Just because you have a good application idea doesn’t mean you’ve got it made.
Developing an iPhone app takes skill. It must be focused on the task and small in size, because the smaller the app the faster that it will load and run. It will become more attractive to potential buyers. If the app file is too big, people may not want to take up room on their iPhone and you may not maximize your profit.
You may be tempted to add alot of extra features to your initial app - don’t. If you have additional features that you would like to add to your iPhone app, release a premium version of the app with the extra features. This will allow you to sell the first release and the premium release for more money. This way you can make money selling two versions of essentially the same product.
When creating an iPhone app, make sure your idea is accessible and replayable. It doesn’t have to be a novelty - it just needs to keep people’s attention. The viral effect of this will be word of mouth marketing and you will make money with your iPhone apps.
Make your iPhone application small in size, simple to use, and addictive and you will create an app that people will use over and over again.
Apple’s Web app directory is the premiere listing of the newest applications. You won’t find much traffic on other directories, so you should submit to the Apple directory. After submission, wait for Apple to review your app. This review is merely to see if your app is usable and functions correctly.
Once reviewed (which takes about a day, so be patient) Apple will put your app at the top of their chronological list. You’ll get a lot of hits for the first few days because of your app’s place at the top of the directory list. This is the most crucial part of your total revenue because it’s when your app will be seen the most and you will make the most money with iPhone apps.
Apple will re-list your app at the top of the directory if you resubmit your app with patches or upgrades. Fill out a resubmission form and fill out the “What’s New” section. Even if your revisions are small and simple, you should still resubmit your product. This will increase visibility, placing you at the top of the directory list once again. Don’t resubmit too much or you’ll be seen as a spammer.
Remember to always resubmit your app on a Thursday or Friday. Apple doesn’t list apps during weekends, so the ones listed on Thursday and Friday stay at the top of the list the longest. The extra two days will really make the difference to your bottom line
All of these steps listed above will help your iPhone app gain exposure and buyers, but they don’t guarantee the success of your product. You have to have a convincing, succint, and useful app. If your iPhone app fits these characteristics and you follow these steps, you are bound to have success.

Do you wish you might be free of this and could go back to living an ordinary life? About 25% of all people have tinnitus or a sound of ringing or buzzing in their ear.
Out of those folks only about 25% of them ever try to get a way to treat it or cure it. Here are some other things you have to know about tinnitus. First, when you start to hear the ringing in the ear you will notice it as a small and terribly faint sound. If this is left untreated and just left to get get louder and louder. It will become so loud that it distracts you from almost everything and it will be almost impossible to drown out with anything else.
This will have a terribly negative effect on your life, especially the social side of things and in terribly serious cases can actually cause you to go insane. Second, the ringing in the ear could have been due to too much exposure to loud noises. If you’d like to keep it from worsening, then you need to always be wearing ear plugs when you’re around anything loud and you need to make sure you are not playing music or the television too loud as well.
This may continue to hurt the already hurt inner parts of your ears and will cause the noise to become worse and more distracting. Last, this may have also been caused by drinking too much alcohol and it’s common in recovering alcoholics. This is because of the balance problem that alcohol causes in your body, which may also cause the inner ear to be effected. You might have also ended up with this noise due to inner ear infections or having tubes put into your ears for long periods of the Whatever the cause was you are certainly going to require to get a treatment or a cure so that it doesn’t interrupt your life anymore. Before you can even think about finding a ringing ears cure you must be sure as to the reasons your tinnitus started in the first place. Exposure to noise accounts for more than 80% of all ringing in the ear cases across the planet. Ringing ears can be caused by fireworks, gun shots, business plant or even very noisy factories and if you are trapped by any of these noises on a day basis you may use ear protection. Some common ear ringing mistakes: If you are following a healthy diet and are getting lots of exercise this can help in your search for finding a ringing ears cure. Regular exercise can help excite the blood flow in the ear canal and help ease the noises.
Your diet can also play a major role in your recovery, ensure you dodge excessive alcohol intakes, chain smoking and eating foods loaded with salt. If you hear music with earphones make sure that you keep the volume down, if you listen with earphones with the levels too high it can lead to tinnitus being caused. Studies has shown that tinnitus happens more repeatedly in fat adults.
Vitamin B12 is a vitamin that you must involve in your regimen to enhance a ringing ears cure. Some trials points toward the fact that this vitamin helps to give protection to the nerves in the inner ear. Milk and dairy products, meat and eggs are excellent for vitamin B12. According to the latest trials there are many treatments for relaxing tinnitus, but there is no one cure.
The advice found here is for research purposes only. No treatment is implied. With all health problems it is advisabale to consult a doctor when considering medical advice.

The Causes Of Panic Attack
There are several parts of the brain that are involved in the development of anxiety. Scientists have performed research using brain imaging technologies and neurochemical techniques to discover the network of interacting events that are responsible for anxiety. Most of the activity appears to be centered around the amygdala, an almond-shaped structure deep within the brain. Many researchers feel that the amygdala acts as a sort of central “hub” that processes and interprets different signals to and within the brain. The amygdala controls the storage of emotional memories, therefore, it may play a central role in the development of anxiety disorders such as phobias, and post traumatic stress disorder. Panic Away System deals with most anxiety attack
The hiccocampus is another area of the brain that is likely to be involved in anxiety disorders. This part of the brain is responsible for processing threatening or traumatic stimuli. It helps to encode information into memories. People who have undergone severe stress, such as military combat or childhood abuse, have a smaller hiccocampus than people who have not experienced such a traumatic event. The smaller size may explain the fragmented memory, flashbacks, and memory deficits of those who develop post traumatic stress disorder. Get Panic Away to treat anxiety
Scientists are using this information to understand more about anxiety disorders and how they develop. In studies of twins and family members, researchers have determined that genetics does play some role in the development of an anxiety disorder. But life experience is also certainly a factor. Researchers are hoping to discover how genetics and experience interact in each of the anxiety disorders. They can then use this information to develop appropriate methods of prevention and treatment.
